Tanya is a Charles County Maryland Veterans Affairs Commissioner and an adjunct professor at Prince George’s Community College. She has over 10 years teaching in Charles County Public Schools. Tanya is a TEDx and lifestyle empowerment speaker as well as the Award-Winning Self Published Author of Being a Wife Just Got Real.
Tanya is a 2018 N.A.A.C.P. Hall of Famer and the 2016 Charles County Citizen of the Year for the work of Forever Free Books, the nonprofit she and her husband founded in 2014. They deliver free books and conduct story time to low-income children in their communities.
Tanya has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science from University of Maryland University College. She is also CPR/First Aid certified and a member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

Sherrell is a speaker, author, trainer, and trauma-informed wellness expert who specializes in leadership and stress management. Her commitment to training leaders was recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) when was awarded the agency's Bronze Medal for commendable service for delivery of EPA's Successful Leaders Program to newly appointed managers and supervisors. With more than 10 years of experience in Federal Human Resources, Yoga & Natural Health, and her adventures in the military, she is committed to educating various communities about holistic ways of managing stress and addressing trauma.
Sherrell holds a Master's degree in Human Resources Administration and certifications and expertise in labor and employee relations, diversity and unconscious bias. She is a iRest® Level 1 Teacher informed by the teachings of Richard Miller and the iRest Institute. She is also, registered with the National Yoga Alliance (RYT-200) and Holy Yoga (R-HYI). Her specialties and studies include Holy yoga, Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin yoga, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, and Restorative Yoga for Race Based Traumatic Stress Injury. She is also CPR certified, Mental Health First Aid certified (MHFA), and certified in natural and holistic health through Trinity School of Natural Health. She is also, a member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
She has been featured in Mantra Yoga + Health Magazine and on Good Morning Washington, Good Day Washington, and WHUR's The Daily Drum.
Bronique is a highly regarded professional with significant experience in the implementation of financial best practices, business operations and the strategic growth of both emerging and mid-size organizations. In other words, she is a force to be reckoned with in the business marketplace. Armed with a BA in Financial Management from Baruch College, City University of New York, an MS in Accounting and an MBA from the University of Maryland, University College, Bronique comes to the table with impeccable credentials. And having more than 20 years in leadership roles such as Financial Controller and CFO, it’s not difficult to see why she is the right partner for this venture.
Like many others, Bronique’s current life path varies greatly from her youthful dream to pursue a career in interior design, but she has no regrets. She has channeled her creativity into a valuable tool and combined it with her natural affinity for analytics and strategic operations. The result is a veritable powerhouse of talent for The Vet Space’s vision.
Ruth has been an avid reader since a young child. Her love for books stemmed from watching her mother read the Bible.
Ruth and her devoted husband, Rodney, have been happily married for 48 years and they are the proud parents of 3 adult children, 8 wonderful grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. She and her husband have devoted much of their lives being of service to others. They were foster care parents for many years to children that ranged in ages from 2 to 10 years of age.
Her years of work history included working for several government contracting companies. Since retiring Ruth devotes a great deal of her time to volunteering her services to veterans and especially to senior citizens in her community. She is also a mentor with the NCHS Alumni Mentoring Program at the local high school. She regularly visits the local nursing home just to give the elderly a smile and a hug.
Ruth has a love in her heart for serving others and is especially an advocate for children and senior citizens. She believes that everyone’s purpose in life is to have a willing spirit to help others.
Diamond is President and CEO of D.McBride Office Solutions which specializes in superior business concierge with ease. She is a wife and mother of two wonderful sons. She has a long-standing career background working for a global financial institution that serves various veterans of all ranks and their families.
She is an Adjunct Professor with a passion for higher education and she serves as the Director of Program Management for a non-profit organization named Phenomenal Young Women, INC. In her role, she provides strategic support in designing and executing programs and events that align with the organization’s mission. She has a deep passion for helping women who come from various backgrounds to overcome the many challenges and hardships that life may bring.
Yusuf is a former Combat Medic (91B). During his military career, he worked in the critical care areas such as Burn Units, ICUs and Trauma/Emergency Rooms. After his medical retirement, he earned degrees in Biochemistry and public health from Howard University and Johns Hopkins. Yusuf worked at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as an Interdisciplinary Scientist conducting reviews for new drugs/biologics and medical device approvals. After the FDA, he worked as a Senior Research Health Scientist for Outpatient Psychiatry at the VA Medical Center in Bronx NY.
Simultaneously, he was a Research Associate at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where he was responsible for managing a joint VA and Department of Defense multi-center clinical trial research portfolio for PTSD and traumatic brain injury. His last government contractor position prior to his current role as Co-founder and CEO at TruGenomix, Inc., was with SAIC at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) as a subject matter expert (SME) for medical countermeasure devices and therapeutics development to protect warfighters on the battle field.
Dilantyra is an accomplished professional who currently works as a contractor for the Federal Government, as a PMP Certified Program Director. She is a retired Chief Master Sergeant who proudly served 21 years with the United States Air Force. She believes in the value of education and earned her a dual BS degree in Industrial Education and Technology and Management from the University of Maryland University College and a MA degree in Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University.
In her personal time, she pursues her passion to empower young girls as they navigate their way through life by encouraging health and wellness (mental and physical) as a foundation to making positive decisions in all aspects of their lives. She is also an active member of the Women of Excellence (W.O.E.) organization that mentors young girls and assists homeless and battered women in re-establishing themselves and their families in the local communities.
She is a devoted wife of over 18 years and the mother to 4 children and (G-Ma) to 3 grandchildren.
